Seoul Gazette - Global Schools Group Launches AI Centre of Excellence; Offers MIT RAISE FutureBuilders Programme

SINGAPORE, SG / ACCESS Newswire / November 5, 2026 / Global Schools Group (GSG) has announced the launch of its Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (GSG AI-COE), an initiative that plans to help students become confident users of AI, creative problem-solvers and responsible innovators.

The launch is an important step in GSG's commitment to future-ready education, and will bring learning programmes to its current students through specialist partners, mentorship and hands-on projects, to prepare them to adapt to and shape the future.

The first initiative under GSG AI-COE is the MIT RAISE Future Builders, powered by Pharos, a programme delivered in collaboration with MIT RAISE (Responsible AI for Social Empowerment and Education), the AI education initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Pharos Education.

The six-day immersive in-person programme, conducted by instructors and mentors from MIT RAISE, is open to students across the GSG network - mainly for secondary and high-school students aged 14 and above. It will be held in Singapore with limited seats for the inaugural batch. The group will also offer 25% scholarships to students in lieu of the 25th anniversary year of the group's existence.

Over the course of the programme, which will help students become creators of intelligent solutions, they explore five areas:

1. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
2. Data Science and Digital Innovation
3. AI App Development
4. Computational and Design Thinking
5. Innovation and Communication

The programme will culminate in an Innovation Demo, where each student presents an application or idea that addresses a real-world problem.

"The future of education is not about teaching students to live with artificial intelligence; it is about empowering them to shape what artificial intelligence can make possible for humanity," said Mr Atul Temurnikar, Chairman, Global Schools Group. "At Global Schools Group, we believe that every child must have the opportunity to understand, create with and responsibly harness AI." He said GSG AI-COE is a commitment to move beyond conventional education towards a future where curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and technological innovation come together. "Our collaboration with Pharos Education to bring the MIT RAISE FutureBuilders programme to our students marks an important milestone in this journey, connecting them with world-class academic expertise and meaningful, hands-on learning experiences," he added. "Our ambition is to nurture a generation that does not simply adapt to technological change, but leads it with imagination, integrity and purpose. Ultimately, we want our students to be architects of the AI future-not just inhabitants of it."

Felipe Arango-Piñeros, Co-Founder and CEO, Pharos Education, said: "At Pharos Education, our role is to bring the academic and research leadership of MIT RAISE to students wherever they are, and to deliver it with care. We are proud to work with Global Schools Group to open MIT RAISE FutureBuilders to students across its network. Our goal is for every participant to leave with the confidence to use AI thoughtfully and the skills to build with it responsibly."
